Join our volunteer team!

Join our team of superstar tūao/volunteers for the 2024 NZISF NanoFest!

The Science Festival wouldn't be here today were it not for the enthusiastic and generous team of volunteers who lend us their time and talent in the lead up to and during the Festival. We are currently seeking volunteers to help run and facilitate events in Ōtepoti Dunedin during our NanoFest 2024, which will be held 10-14 July. We’re also seeking volunteers to help out with a special Matariki event, held 29 June.

SciFest volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and will be expected to take on a minimum of two shifts over the NanoFest period (usually 4-8 hours in total). Volunteer shifts are available during the day and on select evenings. Roles vary from being actively interacting with and instructing members of the public to taking tickets and providing general event supervision and support.

Ready to volunteer? Please complete our short online volunteer application.

Once you've completed the application, our staff will be in touch about the next step in our application process – a 5-10 minute interview. At this interview we’ll get some paperwork sorted and discuss which specific volunteer roles might be a good fit for you. From there, you'll be allocated your days/times/events. This information will be emailed to you in the weeks leading up to NanoFest. For some volunteer positions, a training session will be made available prior to the event.

If you have any pātai/questions about volunteering with the Science Festival this year, don't hesitate to get in contact! Flick those questions through to [email protected] and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
