Event Hosts

The NZ International Science Festival runs every year during the winter school holidays. We host a wide variety of events for all ages across Ōtepoti Dunedin, highlighting an array of science topics. If you have a good idea or an interesting concept related to science and want to communicate it, this is the place to be!

Upcoming Festival Dates:

• In 2027, the festival will run for 9 days between 3rd - 18th July (exact dates tbc)

• In 2028, the festival will run 15th - 23rd July (we know these dates already because it coincides with a total solar eclipse on the 22nd July!)

Anyone can get involved in the science festival! We work with individuals, universities and polytechnics, research institutes, non-profits, scientists, businesses, science communicators, venues, artists, teachers, media and more. We can support local, national and international event hosts with logistics, venues and sometimes funding.

We love our event hosts and are so grateful for the incredible contributions they make, so we really try to look after them. After this year's Festival, our Event Hosts gave us an average of 9.7/10 for Overall Experience with the Festival Team
