In partnership with the Dunedin City Council and Cargill Enterprises, we are offering a FREE drop-off point for un-used or end-of-life consumer electronic goods during NanoFest.

The improper disposal of electronic waste, or e-waste, is a growing issue in New Zealand and the world. Not only can abandoned e-waste contribute to land and air pollution, it also landfills useful materials that can be recycled into new technology.

Bring us your old electronic devices and we'll give them new life!

We can accept the following: cell phones, laptops, desktop computers, tablets, computer screens, household printers, computer cables, keyboards and mice, as well as household and computer batteries (batteries must not be leaking, corroded, expanding or otherwise damaged).

Our staff and volunteers retain the right to refuse any item deemed unsafe to handle - please do not bring anything heavily corroded, leaking fluids, with exposed broken glass, very dirty/mouldy items or any expanding batteries. These items will be turned away.
