Enjoy a talk with Rob Lewis about monitoring Otago's coastal environment with citizen science.
What sharks visit Otago Harbour? How will ocean-warming affect marine life? How do we monitor the health of our coastal environment?
This talk will highlight a range of citizen science projects (Shark Spy, Under the Wharf, Marine Metre Squared, iNaturalist, Nesting of Red-bill Gulls, Litter Intelligence) and provide participants with more information about how to participate. These projects are ideal for nature enthusiasts, families, and schools. Join Rob Lewis for this one-hour talk that gives insight into hands-on and online citizen science projects developed by the NZ Marine Studies Centre, Department of Marine Science, University of Otago.
This event will be held in the Dunningham Suite, on the 4th floor of the Dunedin Public Library.
This event is suitable for children age 14 or above.
