Embark on an adventure on a Dunedin-famous Magic Heritage bus! Join Science Communicators from Tūhura Otago Museum on a field trip and discover creatures, history, and more while you learn about the wonder of science along the way.

Explore fascinating and beautiful destinations around Dunedin and learn something along the way! Each day will be a different adventure and will include an activity and planetarium screening at Tūhura Otago Museum, your magic heritage bus trip and admission to an exciting location. From Dunedin’s own Observatory to The Marine Studies Centre to Orokonui, this will be a fantastic and educational day out for the whole family.

Pack a lunch and enjoy an amazing day out in beautiful Ōtepoti!

  • Wednesday 5th July – Beverley-Begg Observatory, 6.30pm –10pm

  • Thursday 6th July – Orokonui Ecosanctuary, 10am – 3pm

  • Friday 7th July – Marine Studies Centre, 10am – 3pm


Tickets include a Planetarium experience at Tūhura Otago Museum, your magic bus trip and admission and activities at your destination!

Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Accessibility information: this event is run by the Otago Museum, and while the Museum as a venue is wheelchair safe, please contact the Museum about this event in particular to check about the bus they're using.
