Unleash your inner detective and put your crime-solving skills to the test in this thrilling interactive and immersive pirate adventure!

Calling all budding detectives! Are you ready for an unforgettable experience filled with mystery and adventure? Join us for Pirate's Plunder: The Mystery of the Stolen Treasure and become a Science of Crime investigator for a day!

As the clock ticks down, it's up to you to uncover the evidence and solve the clues to establish how, when and who stole the pirate treasure. Gather your family and friends and form a team of up to six individuals, or join other aspiring sleuths on the day. You'll encounter hidden evidence, secret puzzles, and use your detective skills to navigate through the immersive world of Pirate's Plunder and solve the mystery in this family-friendly immersive and interactive Science of Crime adventure.

Before you begin, our chief forensic expert, Dr Angela 'Bones' Clark, will brief you on the basics of crime scene detection and give you some tips to help you succeed in your quest. With a total event time of around 1.5 hours, there's plenty of time to enjoy an unforgettable family-friendly adventure.

PLEASE NOTE: while this event is recommended for children five years and older, younger children will require assistance with reading. This event is designed for children and adults to work in teams and solve the mystery together.

A paid participating adult must accompany each child to the event — a maximum of three children per paid participating adult.

You can attend our event in one of two unique and iconic Dunedin venues: Pioneer Hall in Port Chalmers (3 - 5 July) or Gasworks Museum in South Dunedin (6 - 9 July). Come dressed in your best pirate or detective gear or use one of our Science of Crime protective suits. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes, and adults, don't forget to bring reading glasses!

For adults, we also are running evening events designed for mature audiences; see the programme for our R18 event: "Murder, Mystery, and Mixology: A Killer Night Out".
