Many of the weedy species invading and damaging Otago's natural areas are ornamental plants that have ‘jumped the fence’ from gardens and gone wild. Luckily, everyone can help in the fight against invasive weeds by learning to recognise, control and replace them with natives.
Come see the Otago Regional Council and Dunedin City Council for some useful advice and ideas on what you can do in your own backyard to help protect Otago’s environment. There may be an awesome alternative plant for you to take home too!
