Come grab exclusive sneak peek of Otago Museum's newest science showcase!

Tūhura Otago Museum is thrilled to provide an exclusive sneak peek of its newest science showcase at the New Zealand International Science Festival! Parawhenua Kōmaru: Solar Tsunamis introduces you to the science of space weather and explores how a phenomenon that creates our awesome aurora could also damage our electricity and communication systems.

This showcase has plenty of hands-on activities: play with plasma, create your own aurora, witness a solar storm in virtual reality, discover our conductive landscape, and much more. Come along to learn about the risk that space weather poses to Aotearoa, and discover how an international collaboration led by the University of Otago is preparing Aotearoa New Zealand's response to a hazard that is out of this world.

The Solar Tsunami showcase can be found in the food court area on the lower level of the Meridian Mall.
