Grab your family and friends, and help us create a giant chain reaction!

Each team of up to five people will be responsible for designing a chain reaction to carry across their designated area and connect to the next team's. Use our boxes of random toys, kitchen equipment, blocks and balls (plus our good friend gravity) to move a reaction from one end of your table to the other. Practice makes perfect! In the end, we'll set the full chain reaction off in style, and cheer as the dominoes fall, towers crumble and balls roll toward an exciting finale.

Book in for a one-hour time slot. You'll have 45 minutes to make and test your chain reaction and then we'll cross our fingers and make it go!

Ticket Information

Recommended for ages 6 and up, but children under 10 will require extra assistance. One actively-participating adult per team please. All children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Book one ticket per person. All participants, adults and children, require tickets. Smaller groups of 2 or 3 people may be combined with others small groups to form a team of five. If you would like to book an entire table for your team, please reserve 5 tickets under the same booking name.

Tickets to this event are available on a Pay What You Can Afford (PWYCA) basis. The New Zealand International Science Festival is a non-profit organisation that strives to make its events accessible to anyone who wants to attend. For those who can pay, the recommended minimum ticket price for this event is $5 per ticket.
