Not everyone buzzes about bugs, but they keep our world running!

Pollinators, decomposers, pest control, fashionistas, and even food – bugs provide so many services for humans, and our world would easily collapse without them. Insects make up over 90% of all animals, and over half of the living organisms on Earth. These miniature marvels are critical to our ecosystem health, yet many are under critical threats and in serious decline.

The Otago Entomology Society is open to everyone with an interest in the insects, spiders, worms, and more that call Otago home. Whether you're a bug lover at heart, or prefer to grab a can of spray when you see these little critters, come by for interactive games and activities, informational resources to take home, and live bugs to look at (or even hold if you want)!
