Transformers - Where in the world does it come from?
Kids | Tweens | Teens

Find out where everyday products come from - the ground, plants, the beach and more. Can you work out their life cycle?

This activity examines the amazing transformations behind our everyday products. When we sip from a glass bottle, do we imagine the oceans lapping on the white sands of Hinemoana, the source of the silica to make the glass? When we throw away an aluminium can instead of recycling it, do we consider the impacts of generating the electricity required to produce such an energy intensive material? Everything we use and consume comes from somewhere in our natural world.

Explore these ideas by sorting a set of cards into sequences to piece together the origins of the products we use each day. Consider the original resources, how these materials are processed and refined for our use, and the impacts on our natural world.
