This one-hour, interactive demonstration lecture will showcase how fundamentals of quantum physics led to the first quantum revolution – the digital age based on electronics and the communication age based on photonics/optical fibre communications.

Hear about the second quantum revolution, quantum computing and cryptography, highlighting what (and is not) promised in this new quantum age. The lecture will be primarily demonstrations and interactives, with some big bangs, laser light, superconductors and levitation!
