The HeartOtago Pop-Up Display features the winning entries from HeartOtago’s latest local initiative, the Cardiovascular Poster Competition.

In May this year, HeartOtago challenged Dunedin senior High School students to research and explore one key aspect of human cardiovascular health and disease, with the goal of creating an eye catching poster for the public to learn more about the mighty and marvelous cardiovascular system. How did they do? Stop by the Pop Up Display and judge for yourself. Perhaps you’ll even learn something new!

HeartOtago is a collaborative research group located at the University of Otago and Dunedin Public Hospital. Founded in 2011, HeartOtago was formed to advance scientific research in cardiovascular disease. The group is comprised of researchers and clinicians dedicated to carrying out research aimed at understanding the molecular nature of cardiovascular disease, using tissue donated from patients undergoing cardiac surgery. HeartOtago strives to expand on traditional research techniques, produce robust research and to translate our findings into future treatment options for heart disease suffers.
