Otago University Science Academy recruits 50 potentially high achieving science students from rural/provincial, small & lower decile schools across NZ. As well as attending two science camps on campus during the year our students undertake workshops on science communication and work on a science communication project between camps. These projects are undertaken on top of a very full final year of High School study. Additionally, for many this is their first experience presenting to a public audience.
Come along and give them your support as they share their passion for science via a short talk, film, display, or podcast. Come hear Science Academy Year 13 students present a series of short talks, 3-minute films and museum displays on a wide range of science topics. Links to radio podcasts created by the students will also be provided at the event.
