An exhibition of community-created banners and daily in-gallery activities!
Come see an exhibition of community-created banners and learn about native bees!
Take part in daily in-gallery activities including make-your-own flower cards, creating your own bee-garden fabric patch or tote bag and more...
The banners on display in this exhibition were created last year in workshops that provided a fun way to share information about bee diversity and conservation. During a mix of art and science workshops, students learned how to identify insects, do screen printing and create flowers out of repurposed fabrics that could be added to a collage promoting a healthy bee environment.
We chose 16 of these beautiful collages that capture the importance of planting a diverse assortment of flowers to feed ngaro huruhuru | native bees of Aotearoa, and created a 15-month calendar which will be available for purchase during the exhibition.
Visitors can also make their own collage card and take part in other pop-up gallery activities.
